This is how I get my way. I say what I want and then wait about 2 years for him to "think of it". Mean time, I come up with some other ideas. And wait until he "thinks of it" again. Lather, rinse, repeat.

So in reference to the Craigslist thing... I saw someone had an ad for a free Silkie barnyard mix chicken. Of course I emailed to see if it was still available. Most of the time you don't get a quick response or a response at all. Go figure, this is the answer I got:

yes, usually available any day during the week after 6pm due to work, (address) pa, 18917 also have four 5 mo old full silkie chix if interested. please email me whenyou plan on coming....

Now what do I do? I don't want to overload my coop. I have enough room in the coop, but not enough roosting space. Is it not healthy to have a girl or two in the nesting box to sleep?

What did I get myself into?

I wondering if someone needs a few new babies... @roseschicks

My silkies never roost any higher than about a foot, they just can't fly any higher.

Let me know if you need any more help justifying this . . .

Pics of it didn't happen!

I'm really bad about taking pics, I think I'll take some when I stop for a break, but something else always pops up to distract me. I should take pics when the eggs are still in there for a size comparison.

Different birds have such different personalities. The bantams (silkies and cochins) and the black mottled turkey hens are the only ones that make noises to try to get my attention. The others make noise once I put some treats in, but only those 2 groups associate me with treats to the point of talking before I even get to their cage.

Not surprisingly, those are my favorites to give treats to. Guess they have figured out how to train me.

My husband just came home from seeing a movie with his Dad, and upon hearing this scenario, he said "go ahead, get all 5."

Who is this man and where is my husband? :th

Seriously though, I can only have one or two more chickens, anybody want some free silkies? I can meet halfway!
