Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I am back in Nazareth. The load was loaded wrong. Will have to be fixed in the morning. I need some eggs. That is why I was asking about local people.
Night all! Enjoy the nice weather tomorrow.
Maybe she has one of those new Genesis incubators with the 12v power adapter and is fixin' to join the NYD hatch-a-long . . .

So I forgot it is the 1st day of hunting season. I was walking down my hill to take care of my crew. I hear this loud boom, sounded like a cannon going off and it echoed around me. I almost peed my pants

Uh, oh! Dh is scowling at me.

lol! Our road was quite busy this morning with people heading to their camps. We are the last actual house on our road but there are 3 cabins past us. They were getting ready to go. Our neighbor even had his tree stand up and ready yesterday out in his back woods. My husband wants to get into hunting. He just hasn't gotten there yet.

I wonder how much the constant vibrations in a moving truck would affect the hatch rate. I would not start with valuable eggs, that is for sure.

All the chicks are gone from our basement for the first time since February. I have 5 CCL eggs sitting in a carton that I have to decide whether to eat or incubate. Pretty sure the answer is already known. Even if they hatch, we'd be 3 weeks without any chicks, that is enough of a break I think . . .

It really doesn't take much convincing anymore.

Hey Chippy:

Unfortunately, the little guy went missing today....checked and re-checked three times....and, he didn't make it back to the coop this evening...maybe he'll show up tomorrow morning?

Did he come back today?

Thanks for the warning... Not much of an issue around here though.

I need eggs for my broody, I feel bad making her wait another 2-3 weeks until I see Wing. But to drive an hour or so seems a bit of a starch to find 3 fertile eggs....Maybe I should check CL.

I was sitting here, pondering the bouncing. I decided it is not worse than shipping them. I then told dh where I would put the incubator. He looked at me and said, like that is going to happen! You know if we had fresh eggs, they would get eaten." " I can't believe you just threatened to eat my babies!" "Why not? I shot your nephews." I was raised that you don't aim toy guns at anyone. Dh sat in my sister's kitchen drinking coffee on Thursday and suddenly pulled out a nerf gun, shooting and hitting both of my nephews in two rooms. I didn't even know his aim was that good or that fast! He continued to shoot both boys and even my poor niece throughout the day.

Ok everyone, I'm thinking turkeys next! What breeds do you recommend (these would be for thanksgiving and Christmas next year) and would anyone have poults or hatching eggs around Jan/feb? Give me some advice on them please. Can I raise them in with the chickens, do they need their own coop, can they free range? I hear they're dumb lol. What special stuff would I need to do for them. Thanks!
