So far the dog is okay, I'm sure she will be okay, but I will be watching.... Thanks! Yes, they are smart sometimes!
After I read this, I had this terrible image of a shaking a chicken until an egg fell out. Have you tried that yet?

Thanks, I will be keeping a close eye out for these naughty Raptors.
Every trash day, I'm looking to see if any are tossed in the trash. I got one large one so far! Pumpkin for the girls, roasted pumpkin seeds for me!
I was saving that as a last result..i am getting closer though..

hello all-----i have a few questions for this group

1. pumpkins...........lets say you have a pumpkin that is a bit tough in its flesh................I have found the gals dont peck at the pumpkin flesh much then............they eat the seeds and all

here is the question...........have you ever cooked or steamed the pumpkin for your chickens? would that help make it more edible/ appetizing?

2. Christmas presents for chickens? Do you all give your chickens anything special over the holidays? I am thinking a few more raisin treats etc................or other goodies -----within reason---but to supplement their everyday pellets.............

curious what you all might do, if anything?

First night in the cabin. Wood stove not set up yet & the electric heater hasn't been on long enough to see if it will do much. We are each burried under about 5-6 layers of blankets. Have to finish running wiring, hooking up water & woodstove & organizing this mess tomorrow. Help is supposed to be coming. My son cut down several trees today, so I should have enough firewood for a while.

You are quite a pioneer girl, I need my hot showers!
anyone in west chester that can pick up a rooster.. Attacking kids and just needs it gone.. a little bit of a drive for me
I could maybe bring it to you if they can wait until I am ready to pick up my processed chickens. Wish I could help otherwise.

Front & side
12X32 with double 12x12 lofts

Back door with my son's gf hanging out waiting on me to help her down cuz steps are not set yet

This end will contain kitchen & bath. She is 5'6"...ceiling beams are 6'2"...better be short (I am) or learn to duck.

12X12 loft on each end for kids' rooms & storage. Still gotta install ladders.

This end is the front. My room goes to the right of the door in front of window. Woodstove goes on the block base to the left. Livingroom area is on right across from woodstove.

Lots of work to do, but moving in as soon as electric, plumbing & woodstove are in.
Hey..this is a neat looking place..yes, a lot of work to do, but you will be so happy to have a nice place. Looks like it could be fun deciding on what's what..and where's where. :D

@Cynthia12 Yup, everything has a place so far except washer & dryer...and I WILL find room...lol It's not very big, but a lot bigger than my rv that I have been in since June. @AnneInTheBurbs We have hot water...heated in a pan on the hot plate, woodstove or firepit. Shower is a 5 gal bucket & a cup. The bathroom in the rv has a tiny shower stall for privacy. This is only temporary as I will be building a shower & am ordering an instant hot water heater. I'm just debating on whether I want propane or electric. Electric would save me having to buy propane, but propane would allow hot water even without electric. I have been warned that electric goes out A LOT here. My son & I are discussing getting a backup generator. He & his gf are staying in the rv for now but are planning on putting another cabin in beside mine in a couple months.

I guess this means he will not be doing his light show this year..:smack

Seriously though CC if you need any help holler. Even if it is just run to a store and drop things off...
nope, no light show. And I was really looking forward to it!

I have a week of vacation next week, but it might be a little late to do the lights. Shame, I got a couple thousand more on the after Christmas sale last year, too.
