When do pullets stop laying pullet eggs and become hens and lay hen eggs? Probably a silly question, I know, but ive only had chickens since spring.

I've only had mine since spring but from what I understand is that they're considered pullets for the first year and hens afterward. They will just gradually lay larger eggs until they reach their full egg size.

So, any of you that have built coolerbators, have you ever thought about making a homemade dehydrator? We were just looking it up and it seems almost the same lol. We're planning to make a big one this spring.

Got the first turkey egg of the season yesterday! It was a Midget White. Those hens are less friendly than our mottled black hens, actually the MB's are almost too friendly, they bite at my hands and legs thinking I must be trying to feed them. I have to keep pushing them away whenever I work in their run. I guess I need to hand feed grass to the white hens to get them tame like that.

And we got 8 CCL eggs this week, now I'm pretty sure both hens are laying.

She is very nice & easy to work with..she is very busy with her family and working, so be understanding if she takes a little time getting back to you, but she is usually really good about things.

Of course! 2 weeks ago, hidden in the basement. First chicks are due a week from tomorrow. Might need to mention that to the wife soon . . .
I only started the "little" incubator, and I'm only hatching breeds I haven't hatched before. That shows a lot of restraint, doesn't it?
