they usually do not bother with my pens, they have enough with the pigeon population, for some reason they have developed a taste for chicken the past couple of weeks......

At least 5 or 6 blue-egg laying black sex links, and a single splash Ameracauna. I hope all that cheeping makes the others start hatching!

My thoughts exactly. The hawks can leave my chickens alone. There are squirrels and zillions of Canadian geese and wild ducks sitting on the river less than a half mile from our house.

Yep, that is pretty definitive.... looks like the little ones are going to have to put on their big bird pants and go it alone!

They can be absolutely horrible!! Thankfully between my cats, dogs and the chickens they have been pretty uncommon the last few years! Though our best 'mouser' hen died late this fall, so time will tell if any others step up to take her place.

I lost 7 barred rocks to them this summer, they never bothered any of the other girls, they must taste better....um like chicken
