lucky you....how loud are they..
I am weird, I actually like the sound of frogs
Not earshattering. just loud enough to announce springtime and get a person to thinking that it's time to start planting the garden if you haven't already started.

That would be Wil at Whitmore Farm, right? That is where my original stock for my Welsummers, Marans, and some of my Ameracaunas came from. If you want chicks this spring, better contact him soon, he gets sold out pretty quickly. His operation was a big part of what inspired me to start hatching in quantity to sell, the demand is huge.

Yes, Whitmore Farm.

Thanks for the heads up about chick availability.

Are you selling chicks? How is that working out. Seems a little more profitable than the egg selling I was doing, but I have never looked into the market. I'm way too busy these days to start any chicken business. Just want to a hobby for me and my daughter to share, and help better/maintain a breed of chicken.

The only "to do" I can say for sure is planting another apple tree or two. My peach, cherry and macintosh all died. Jonathan is doing well after two years. I need another tree for pollination. Everything else is on hold until I get life worked out.

So I am REALLY worried now. My white silkie rooster I use to breed is sick..... I think. I picked him up today like I always do because he is a sweetheart and loves to be picked up, but when I picked him up a WHOLE bunch of gooey saliva stuff came out of his mouth for like 20 seconds! I am worried he cant breathe. I watched him eat and drink when I put him back down. What is wrong with him?

You may have just picked him up at an in-opportune moment. I've picked up birds after they have had a long drink and squished the water out of their crop. I hope nothing's wrong with your boy.

@ wing...thanks for the marbles...I'm going to need some more. They've already called off school for tomorrow.
