Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

We've got a surplus, feel free to come trap and take some of ours! We encourage hunters and trappers to get all the foxes they can, but the side effect is that then the rabbit population runs rampant.

And let's not mention the groundhogs, after the last 6 weeks, I'm extra mad at them.

Rabbits don't last long here, no one traps predators that I know of, and the hawks are protected.

Plenty of groundhogs here. I only got two last year, last I talked to neighbor last summer he was up to 34, and a guy a couple miles back was up to 116.

Lucky for me, my neighbor loves when my chickens free range on his property. He loves that they are eating all the nasty bugs!

I don't understand why the chicken owner was charged with disorderly conduct.

I know this should technically be in the Feeding and Watering your flock forum but I am looking for local advice. I used to feed my chickens the layer feed from Countryside organics, that was before I got so many lol. It costs $70ish dollars to ship 100 lbs of feed! I have been just buying the HomeFresh brand pellets from the feed store but they don't want anything to do with it. I would love to find someplace local or semi local that makes their own feed. Can someone point me in the right direction? I am in kittanning but willing to travel a bit to buy in bulk

Erin:

Google is you best friend....there are many feed mills around....you just need to find one....and get them to customize what you want....at $35/bag...you are paying for shipping,,,,you have to be able to get a better deal...my two cents...
