So cute! Happy Easter everyone!

See, I thought some were partridge! There's one black with a brown face that made me kinda go hmmm. And there's a light blue one with a brown face. Is blue partridge even a thing? I only got one yellow orp.

One all black one (with some copper splashes) with feathered feet came out of an sfh egg, and a light yellow with black smudges came out of a light brown egg. Is it possible you mixed up the silkie mix eggs with the sfh eggs?

Entirely possible. She has a habit of fence jumping. Her eggs are impossible to distinguish from the sfh

Okay, good. It popped out with feathery lil' feet and thought "hmmm, SFH's don't have feathery feet. :/" Thanks for clarifying!

Happy Easter Everyone!!! :)

Happy Easter everyone.

I have a problem that I hope you can help me with. My silkies are very skinny, their keel bones are sticking out. They eat, I see them eat and drink. I feed them 20% layer feed from a mill, they get scratch and BOSS and fruit and veggies added when I have them available. They were wormed in either January or February and I don't see any bugs on them. How can I add some meat to their bones? Will scrambled eggs help?

Happy easter!!! My chicks from Mc Murray are now 8 week's old. I ordered a barred rock and got the free mystery bird any guesses on which ones which what the mystery bird is and whether its a pullet or cockerel would be awesome !!!

Just getting started again. Looking for some layers in the Snyder Cty area. Hoping not to have to start out with chicks. Any ideas? Thanks!
there are lots of breeders that would be willing to sell pullets..that is how I started out too...especially when starting with long maturing breeds, like Wyandottes..

new baby, happily snuggled up. ... on her back lol

My little Mocha is going to grow up to be either one heck of a rooster or an awesome mama! She's 3 weeks old and in there with all the new babies and she's already calling them to the food and teaching them how to eat and cuddling up with them lol

Their poops are solid and look "normal"?...not watery?...

I am just taking a guess here...i don't know much about Barred rocks..although I REALLY like them...I would say the lighter of the two is the cockerel..and the darker the pullet..hahaha,
or...the opposite..or both are the same sex..

..sorry, i had to do it..
the leg color on the lighter one is really nice and yellow....wish my girls(wyandottes) had that color on their legs..but, they are laying and that makes things dull-down a little sometimes..
