That word " NEIGHBORLY ". has resulted in 66 birds joining me since Sunday
700

But in my defense, 29 of them are red rangers which technically do not count since they cncan be a broiler

Also I am 100% positive that some of the so called leghorn are actually cornish

Is that good or bad if they are Cornish? I called my TSC and they have Cornish for $1.99. Was thinking, I could rake about 6 and have nobody protest. But I would need to have them processed.....

i love this chicken math ...never could i ever dream math being so advantageous..

You know, my TSC has had next to nothing this year. They said they have new a new hatchery, they never know when things are coming. I was there today and they had a couple ducks but that was it. I was thinking about doing a couple meaties for the first time this year but I guess not (not that we have room for any more birds right now anyway! )

Need a little help here. One of my albino chicks has weird, pimpley things on it's (if it were a human) groin area. I can't get that good of a picture by myself, but they almost look like those pictures of hen's ovaries with all the little teeny yolks on them. It also looks kinda like blisters...

Maybe he scratched himself a little too hard and it got infected?

I'm probably gonna put some betadine on it, but I don't know if I should try to puncture them or what.

Anyone have any insight?

I just put 101 out of 111 into lockdown that got down to 70 for a few hours & 50 during the night for 8 hours. Once they got unplugged. The other time the bator got turned off. They are still doing great!
Regular old VapoRub (the human kind) also works for respiratory issues. Just smear a dab under each wing. When they tuck their head under while roosting it clears their sinuses & lungs. Eucalyptus oil would also work. Just a couple drops under each wing each evening before roosting.

Wow...100 chicks at once...and 90% fertilty....I am on my third small hatch (12 eggs) I only have six positives and 2 maybes going....a question, do lower ranking chooks get covered less?

On another note two thunderstorms have already blown through...its taken a while but the girls are finally learning to hide under the main coop....

The skin does not look red or irritated, I would just keep an eye on it for now
