I used to ferment my feed. Problem is my silkies get it everywhere, in their beard and their crest. I like to keep them as clean as possible so it's easier to bathe before shows.

I totally know how it goes with silkies & fermented feed. I solved that by adding in additional dry feed to soak up excess water about 10 minutes before feeding. Solves most of the problem & still ferments mist of the feed.
 
My silkie lost all of her puff feathers and body feathers from fermented feed last summer. She is getting them back now, she is the one that went broody. I don't want to risk loosing everyone's feathers again

My silkies are silly, they layed in the dish and ate the feed in the bowls. Messy little birds lol

That makes total sense to me.
I don't show, so wouldn't even think of that, nor do I have silkies. Well, I do have one silkie mix, but she's just there to keep all the big girls in line, I swear.
 
Hello to all of the new names.

Had my 3. Year old granddaughter for the last couple of days so not on much..( she takes my tablet to watch video's, hate to say it but she can work it better than me )
Also hate to say that I am glad she went home, I missed the quiet and I am tired...
All good on the chicken front, n predator's lately and the neighbor has been warned to keep his dog home if he really wants it...

Is anyone going to the green dragon special sat auction
