Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Lawn mower issue from last week resolved. New starter and battery and it's running again. Now if my hay field dries.

Changing a starter on an old Briggs twin is horrible. I'm sure it was easy when they built it, but I'm not sure they could have made the one bolt any harder to get at. And I only had to take out 20 other bolts to get to that one! If I had all the right told, it would be easier, but I'm not a small engine mechanic.

Definitely worth a shot!  Some hens would adopt a rock if you painted a beak on it!  But those aren't as common.... hopefully it will continue to go well.  Often it is the chicks which are problematic more than the hen, since they aren't used to the big, dark scary hen.

Haha, it didn't work. I tried again with a different chick and she gave it a bop on the head. Experiment over! Now I'll have to get her in the broody pen tomorrow with some real eggs.... I tried to move her in the small hen house, but she wouldn't budge. Maybe I should let her hatch them out in the hen house like I did last time and take my chances.

We are in North Central WV about 90 min south of Pittsburgh[/quote
