yeah, understand that, mine does the hard stuff for me, once they're dispatched i have no problem with the rest, just the killing is hard when i raise them, they just don;t taste the same if i have to do it, probably would just die of old age

we have 18 or 19 to do tomorrow, gonna be a long day, glad we have a plucker, at least that helps a whole lot.

you might have to go ahead and process her or him early, sounds like it not getting enough oxygen BUT not sure

x2.... sounds like CHF is started and affecting it's oxygen flow. It needs processed sooner rather than later or you may find it dead in the coop before long. If you feel it's backside and it is firm and rounded out then it is even a higher risk, some build large amounts of fluid in their body cavity from the CHF and it eventually impacts their circulation to the point their systems shut down.

@oletymer
got cochins starting to hatch, but no chipmunks yet, got a black, a brown and a yellow with a grey splotch on the back, they were due to hatch tomorrow so these three are early birds, all i can say is i know the daddy is a mf

cant wait to see if these start veining, will check them in a few more days, this is my first real dark eggs in the bator , hope I can see if there developing, I did get 3 more eggs from my girls , hmmm there slow layers or there eating them eggs before I can get them

they should be fertile with three cocks in the pen but there also a couple of brahma splits in there too
went to the auction yesterday, slept thru alot of the junk part(had a 24 hr virus the night before) but anyway two pairs of mf's went thru but they didn't have nice cushions and i didn't need any more cocks, three is enough lol, the hens had some color and not bad cushions but again, mine i think are lots better. anyway they brought a decent price i think, $5. each the flowers went for crazy prices, you could buy the same at a nursery and not be limited to colors oh well things will settle down as more people start bringing in what they started. eggs were still really cheap.

Can someone recommend a local spot (I am in Conshohocken - a few miles NW of Philadelphia) to buy fodder seeds in bulk? I have been growing fodder for a few months now, but I am still learning the ins-and-outs, and not set on a specific type of seed or mixture other than it being organic.

I know you can buy birdseed, BOSS, etc. from places like Walmart, but I'd rather buy from somewhere local. Just looking for ideas - appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
Ed
