Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

ok I would love pictures and I'll take them all my cousin has a few bantam hens I can have to even out the numbers so there is no jealousy or fighting between the boys thank you so much

They are really flighty right now, but I'm sure after being here for almost two months we'll have them eating from our hands, lol. Also, I don't know if you consider wing clipping, but the little bantam roos can fly over a 6 foot fence ;)

The RIR rooster is still young, the girls just started laying about a week ago so he is still a little lanky and awkward, lol. Bantams must mature faster because those little guys were obvious boys, crowing and everything back in mid-July and this guy still looked like the hens! I still haven't heard him crow, but he's definitely a boy.

Now that is interesting, Chippy. Milk is fed for the calcium. It is given warm in a waterer in the winter as a treat. I've never before heard a negative effect. Of course, too much of anything is bad for anyone/anything. I know you want to be a vet, so I completely believe you. It is just news to me.
:p When I get on a topic (chickens) I immerse myself in it and learn every possible little detail. I love learning when it's something I like (animals).
The coop is done the chicken are in!!!!!
Looks great!! Very nice design....I really like how you used the covered 'undercoop' for your feeding area.
x2!!! Beautiful birds and coop!
The Harvest is here.

My garden was a total flop this year. I got 4 strawberries, mint, and a few peas. That was about it. :(

I'm the same way about learning :) I'll research for days and practically become an expert if it's something I'm into lol

I'm in the same boat as you with the harvest too. We got a few green beans and 1 little purple pepper lol. We have some popcorn growing but I have no clue if well manage to get anything from it before the frost his or not. Well have to wait and see I guess.

Sally Sunshine the faverolles chicks that I got from you last summer turned out really nice. None were blue but i did get blue from their babies. Thanks! Did you daughter get to show her pullet before the ban on shows?

Miss Evie is going to have a hard time giving up these chickens... it's a good thing we get to foster them for nearly two months! She just loves the little bantam roosters... and she loves having chickens in the tractor again - it's her favorite place to play with them because she can catch them in there :)

you are right the will be snuggle bugs till they leave

We had some more additions ...all are silver pencil rocks....and their Dad thinks they are something to crow about!

Janeway will be another busy broody, she hatched 9/10...we were very happy for her.

Such pretty chicks arent they

And Lacey is busy with her 10... she had them out and about today, though the littles aren't too sure about coming out into the big world.

Eventually she did get them all out with her...and they are off to learn more about how to be good little chickens.
Did you keep food and water inside before now?

Wow, they were NOT cooperating with me this morning! Everyone was super excited and jumping and flapping all around. I was making noises at them to get them to stand still (hence the struts lol). So what do you guys think? The 3 little Bourbon reds are 12 weeks old but hens or Toms?

I tried this is the turkey thread but I thought I'd try here for some local expertise.
Trying to talk dad into turkey he is stubborn! now says he may do BPRocks ugh

No she gave her to a friend that fell in love with her! I let her do what she wants, she is very giving and I love that she can give her "stuff" away to those that also love them! She needs to go through her serama, we have so many eggs I dont know what to do with! I am so sick of hard boiled eggs and red beet eggs, and pot pie LOL

That chicken tractor is awesome! Any instructions or tips on how to build one?
