Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Lastly, I'm starting to worry our new 7-month-old RIW roo may be gay, or at least has the mentality of a 5-year-old child.

My hen: "Good morning, handsome. You're looking particularly roostery today." *peck peck*

My roo: "Oh my god, it's touching me! It's touching meeeee!" *flees in abject terror*
I'm sorry about your other problems, but this completely cracked me up.

I have a New Hampshire roo and several bantam roos. The hens are totally taken with the New Hampshire - after all, he is the biggest roo they have ever seen. It's a similar situation Hens: "Oh, you're so big and strong." Tommy: "AAAAGHHH!!! What do I do? What do I do???"

Does anyone have anything hatching soon in the central pa area? Poor Cookie's eggs didn't make it. One didn't develope at all, I accidentally cracked one last week, and her last one quit

I'll give her more eggs if I have to but if someone locally is hatching something and has extra that would be easier lol.

Sending you a pm...

Cookie, with one of her new babies peeking out, courtesy of fisherlady :) she seems to have accepted them without any fuss whatsoever. This little one peeking out has already been pecking at Cookie's face and eye and she just has that contented mommy look lol

I am so happy it is working out for her! I am just thrilled that the timing worked out perfectly to help her out....

Well, since it was obvious we had another broody hatch I thought I would share some pictures...

The hen is Jo, a silkie mix who happens to be a daughter of Gracie, our little white broody mama who is the frequent star of these posts...
This is her second brood this summer, so looking like she is following in her mama's footsteps.

She was an overachiever and hatched 7/8 of our silver pencil rocks.

We were hoping for 5 or 6, so happy we could share with Auroradream26!

I grabbed 2 for grafting and delivered them around lunch time at a midway meeting spot.

And Jo is perfectly content with her 5 pack!
