congrats on the win....sorry I don't have an incubator or I would loan it to you. We do have a broody, but she only committed yesterday....
 
Today I found the first 2 Bielefelder eggs!

I'm pretty sure it is just one hen laying and I missed the first one until today.

I ordered parts for the new incubator yesterday, and spent a while today rebuilding shelves in the chick room to hold the incubators and brooders.

Are you going to incubate them? I want some of those chicks. If only I had the room in the spring...

My next door neighbor's little boy thinks my yard is a zoo. He has on multiple occasions rang my doorbell to so if he and a friend can come to the backyard to see the chickens. He loves to feed them and always tells me he wants one. Haha. I'm sure his parents would love that! I think I will let him name the next one I get. :)
 
If a girl would stay broody, I'd be happy! I swear the nests are exactly where I had them when all of my other hens used to go broody. They stayed committed, and they were hatchery stock. Huh! Well, three green eggs going in the incubator tomorrow. Enough to give it a shot, but if I have one more rooster, I can deal with it. If I successfully hatch ten, and get more than one... Not worth the chance.
Haha! I said I want a broody then said that stuff! I need the duck eggs to hatch. Also, if nature takes over, I'm innocent of chicken math!

If I weren't on there other side of the state, I'd loan you one.

If you can find a thermostat, you can throw one together pretty quick.

In a pinch, a water heater thermostat can work. Home depot that has one that goes low enough for around $15. Not ideal, but in a pinch..... An old cooler, a couple light bulbs, some wire and a plug....

Not an enabler.

I'm not sure how far you are from me, but I have an extra one that you could borrow. I had planned to use it for a hatcher but could live without it for a couple weeks. It's actualy brand new, never used. The old one that I had for sale was just sold or I'd have offered it to you :/
