, so I added one. Of course, then I had to added a Welbar to my order at the last minute because she is so cute and lay beautiful dark eggs. I have to stop here for this year, but I already have a plan for next year when the chicken train comes.

You at least know that you have options.

The chicken train is a person that collects chickens ducks etc. along a route across Pennsylvania. Other people meet up with the train conductor, and either take a bird or two, or give them another one. Sometimes three birds jump off, and the receiver will deliver them to others.

You have to look for a heating pad that does not turn off. You can private message Sally sunshine, and she will tell you a few brands that don't turn off.
I just asked the same question....

So, how do you know where the train is going? Or who's on board?

You have to buy one that has an 'always on' feature... Sunbeam makes one that is very popular. I don't have time to link now, but if you search MHP or mama heating pad on BYC you should find a huge thread about it :)

edit - look at me hastily replying before seeing that you've been answered three times over already, lol

amazon EBAY has Thermo Peep heated pad

Leblackbird thank you so much for the offer! Not quite sure what I'm doing yet or what breeds I want. Wanted to see what was avaiable locally. If I can't find anything locally where would you suggest I look?

d

I have gotten girls from Freehling Farms in  Kittanning and BandR farm near Ellwood City, both have facebook pages

Thanks! If nothing materializes I'll take a look.
