Ya my turkey is feeling a little frisky if u want to call it that and she has been away from the tom for probably about a month and her eggs are still fertile I didn't think they would be so now I have a broody hen setting on those cause those eggs are what I was using to try and get her to go broody so now we will be having some turkeys and then before she bonds wih them I am taking them and putting them in the incubator so I can put my silkie eggs under her

Rhoda, it is very hard to be sure I am understanding what you mean when you don't use punctuation or paragraph structuring...

Do you mean you are planning to let the broody hatch the turkey eggs and remove the poults and replace them with silkie eggs then to hatch? Which would cause a horribly extended sit....
Or are you swapping out the turkey eggs for silkie eggs in the near future?

Sorry I use the voice thing and it dosnt add that stuff and it's hard to go and add all of that stuff in so I don't and I mean once the turkey eggs are a few days before hatch I am taking them and putting them in the incubator, then I am hoping to have my silkie eggs and put those under her to hatch. And then they will go in the brooder with my younger chicks until they are up and walking around a bit and then they will go in the other brooder with the older chicks.

So will the broody be allowed to raise any of the chicks you are having her sit for weeks to hatch or are you just using her for an incubator?
How many weeks are you planning to let her set?

Yes, I put them in just after midnight yesterday. I meant to put them in sooner, but kept getting sidetracked. My head has been in a vice for the past week.
More than anything, I am worried that they will not hatch. This is a new incubator, and while it should be perfect, it being new is scary to me.

The great thing is, the entire lid is plastic. If I miss seeing one hatch, it's because I'm not looking.
