quick question....stuck eggs under Niko yesterday. Today, got an egg from Cate. I want Marans, so can I stick it under Niko or is it too late?

Well, I was mistaken. One night without her neck brace and my little silkie's neck was twisted back down this morning. I put her brace back on :/

I would try it. Sometimes they sit tight when they sense other eggs are hatching. We know chicks can survive up to 3 days wo food or water, probably to make this scenario possible.

Staggered hatches are not ideal, but are usually ok if within 24 hours or so. I wouldn't do it at 2 days though.
Make sure you mark the late egg so you can check it's hatch time.

If you can tell who is coming out in what order, you either didn't have enough birds, or they moved very slow! I thought the babies were going to be first this morning. When the door got opened, it was all too fast to tell!

Clearly the answer is that I didn't have enough birds!
