Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Since you have been to raystown have you ever been to that rainbow falls/balancing rock I don't know how far that trail goes we just go and take the dogs to go get some pics and stuff and plus we have an older dog who can't walk that far so we have to carry her after a while so we have to head back to the camper. And I might try Gifford then it sounds very nice and I have seen some videos to see what it looked like. I have heard of trough creek but I don't know where it's at.

I'm really in the mood to go there now. Trough creek is where balance rock and rainbow falls is. It's been a while since we've gone but if you follow the trail past balance rock, it goes back down to the creek to a nice sized swimming hole. We used to take the dogs there to swim and the kids but it's been a few years since we've been there.

Anyone who is nearby, The First Stop Shop in Altoona has 5 lb bags of red potatoes for 10 cents each! It's a bit early to be canning (and hot!) But I guess you can't choose when you find a good deal. We picked up 165 lbs of potatoes today for $3.30 lol. We'll be going back for more once we get these all canned up.

Yep, that's right. Balance Rock isn't a very far walk. There used to be a geo-cache up at the rock, so we always have to go back and check to see who all has found it. We've done Copperas Rock and a bunch of the others, but we like to get out and hike a lot. If you go to the far end of the Park (where the old road through the submerged town stops) and keep walking past the ice mine you'll come to an awesome rope swing that goes out over the water. I think someone put up a cable last time we were there so maybe a little safer? It's a great ride if you're up for the thrill. :)

I thought I was the only cazy one that canned potatoes.

Canned potatoes are the best! Quick and easy mashed potatoes, great breakfast potatoes, wonderful!

Thar sounds like fun! We haven't been there since we've known about geocaching so it's been quit a while. We really need to get back up there for a day.

Wow, what an awesome price . . . and red potatoes too! I've never thought about canning potatoes, but we do eat a lot of them. Wish we were closer to Altoona, but a 3 hour drive for potatoes probably wouldn't be very economical just for potatoes! Lol.

I hope you're able to catch her and get her reunited with her flock buddies.
It seems that if you can get to where she is roosting after dusk and lift her from the roosting spot, you could carry her to the new holding pen. I know that's easier said than done though.
ok building a,small 3 bird coop to place my new birds in a friendly environment. how close to the existing coop should i build the new one? it is,a TSC coop so i will be able,to move it once the girls, become familiar with each other.

Ok not a good evening yesterday with the new girls, tried to ontroduce them to their new flock i know i tried to fast, lesson learned. Opened the run to fill the water and one of the new easter eggers got out, man they are quick, she never came homr last night i think she roosted in the briars on the edge of the property. Question How do i get her to come back to the coop if she survived the night? Tried catching her i am no whete near that quick but i am sure the neighbors got a good show.

scratch....also, better to try around dusk of dawn....their sight will be more limited and you may catch her napping....

You can put it right beside the other one. All you need is a fence separating the 2 flocks so they can see and become accustomed to each other.
