Are you resetting the hens?

You tell me. I have had broodies with rotten eggs, but never all of the eggs being undeveloped (Yes, I saw something. No more than day six in two). Something was wrong from the start.
I am sorry. I am being confusing. I am trying to say that I am at a loss as to which direction to go. Whatever you say is what I will do.
I had planned on making a decision no later than noon today. If I reset them, I will be more attentive to their food than normal. I don't want them suffering from an overly long brood.

Are they settled on the quieter side of the coop now? If they are sequestered in a quiet location and all the eggs can be set at the same time they should be good to go. I would not reset them in the main coop because they will continue to be bothered by the others trying to lay and they won't like that.

I was very supprised to see it laying in the egg box this morning. The girls are only 19 week old.

Suspect #1: Dolly the Rees Legbar. She is the one with best comb development and acted very excited this morning.

Suspect #2: Bownie. She is the only other blue egg layer who squats for me all the time. Ruff-Ruff the Rhodeba is the one on the back. She doesn't look ready yet.

Suspect #3: Molly (75% legbar, 25% welsummer) She sang egg song yesterday and last week.

Other girls:
Bear looks like a pure bielefielder, although she is only half.

Penny the Welbar. She sings egg song and squats, but her comb is not very red.

Thanks so much to Dennis. These girls are absolutely beautiful, cute, healthy, and friendly.

Sorry, I didn't come here recently. Had some difficult time within last two months. Bad news is : I may need to move out of PA, and there's no way I can take my chickens with me; Good news is: If I cannot bring the chickens with me, my brother-in-law will take the girls as their family pets.
WOW! Those are beautiful birds, and a pretty egg. I think the Reese Legbar is the one that laid, that egg it too pure a blue for any of the others.

It's interesting how Brownie and Bear turned out. It makes me want to repeat those crosses in the future. I am curious about how well they both lay. I hope you get to stay and report here regularly.

Hello all sorry to interrupt. Just wondering if any one would like 3 PQ silkie Roos. They are 4 months old. They have disrupted the harmony in my flock. Not to mention, have my children distressed. Our flock originally consisted of all hens. We purchased st run silkies, and knew we would have a few roos. We did not anticipate the blood hurling screams, and blood shed associated with have them. I guess roos are early to mature, and are trying to "love" or "woo" the females they grew up with. They grab the hens necks so ferociously and pull and shake their heads, often drawing blood. And those poor hens screech so loudly. My children cry, because they feel the girls are being hurt and bullied. The roos are not aggressive toward us however. The were respectful of my mature hens but now they have taken to flipping them off their roosting bars. We are all distressed by this. I don't have it in me to cull them. So I was hoping to rehome them.

Have you considered or have room for a bachelor pad coop? Keep the roosters separate from your young hens. It gives your hens a chance to mature and it will save the veggies. I had a similar problem two weeks ago (no blood though), my older son's pet hen was being picked on too much by the 3 roosters so they are his soup this week. Good luck

I was kidding. Extra chickens are easier to deal with! And, it is too long.
I hate to say it, but I think I might need you to.
This is what my eggs look like.

I have 3 more miles to finish on my exercise bike and then cool down...so probably be around 1.
Do you have a sharpie for marking them?
