Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

@MotorcycleChick
We always took the rotten eggs and smashed them to see what stage went wrong. I don't plan on letting mine hatch. However, if I don't finish my run soon they will start laying in the tall grass and I won't be given the choice.

Would you believe that none of them looked to have any development?

I was very supprised to see it laying in the egg box this morning. The girls are only 19 week old.

Suspect #1: Dolly the Rees Legbar. She is the one with best comb development and acted very excited this morning.

Suspect #2: Bownie. She is the only other blue egg layer who squats for me all the time. Ruff-Ruff the Rhodeba is the one on the back. She doesn't look ready yet.

Suspect #3: Molly (75% legbar, 25% welsummer) She sang egg song yesterday and last week.

Other girls:
Bear looks like a pure bielefielder, although she is only half.

Penny the Welbar. She sings egg song and squats, but her comb is not very red.

Thanks so much to Dennis. These girls are absolutely beautiful, cute, healthy, and friendly.

Sorry, I didn't come here recently. Had some difficult time within last two months. Bad news is : I may need to move out of PA, and there's no way I can take my chickens with me; Good news is: If I cannot bring the chickens with me, my brother-in-law will take the girls as their family pets.

Missed the second part. That stinks, but at least you have a home for your flock. One less thing to worry about.
Thanks.

I was so happy when my BIL said they gonna take the girls. At least he and his wife both have very stable jobs and will be able to take care of the girls forever. And their kids love my girls.

Congratulations on the first egg! It's always the most exciting one. I'm sorry to hear about the troubles though :( I hope all works out for you.

:th Fourteen rotten eggs. I swear they were moving last night. I guess its possible the gasses were moving. I have to wonder. How did I get 14 eggs that never developed anything? It explains why the girls would not lay back down on the eggs.
That stinks. Literally!
