Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

So our young Roo's are starting to get a bit frisky with our girls, grabbing them by the back of the neck to mate with them, and the girls of course screaming loudly.
Last night one of the Roo's grabbed ahold of Charlotte, everyones favorite hen, of course while the kids (9,7,3) were watching. They started screaming, louder than the hen, and ran to me, the littlest one yells, "Mommy, the bad silkie is trying to eat charlick" by which time Charlotte was already free and seemingly unphased.

Are these roos ever going to learn any tact or will they always make the hens scream bloody murder??? Although the hens carry on no one ever appears injured

I have never seen anything like this before...had to get a pic.
Is anyone familiar with this? Type of spider?...

Went out to the front porch this morning & right there on the porch rug was feathers and the head of a bird..tweety bird, not chicken bird.
Got a pic of that too but didn't want to scar anyone. wasn't messy or anything, very clean.
DH and I watched a hawk take a small bird right out of the air a couple day ago....the girls were as still as statues in their run....someone let out the alarm, then all went still and quiet. They are protected well, all fenced/netted in.
It has been hanging around for the little birds. Not sure what did that on the porch though. Was most likely one of the neighbors many cats. Not the first time a "gift" was left on the porch.

Interesting little thing. Arrowshaped Micrathena usually found at the edge of the woods in the brush. Non poisonous or worrisome.

Haha, got a few chooks lined up. 50 may be a bit much at this point. Until we get some of those trees cleared... We are already talking about another dog for security. Goats maybe next year. I already have a contact!

What does the broody dance look like? I think it would be more of a sit-in. LOL

That little guy is so neat looking! I've never seen a bug like that before.

I am really getting tired of the whole "find the silkie" game. Today, we had a wicked rain storm run through. Afterward, I could not find Blue! Jewel was there, where they always hang out but Blue was nowhere to be found. I checked under the turkey coop and in the pen since that's where we found Jewel. Turns out, he must've ran from the rain and wiggled his way under the screen porch and popped out the other side when the rain ended. He was never out front before so I think he just panicked and parked his butt beside the house. I actualy had to find him instead of him running to me like usual. He was thrilled to get back out back with Jewel though lol.
