Such filthy, messy brats...but is there anything sweeter? Cosmo, Ebony, and Cocoa, snuggling up with me before bed. After a rough day, this is as comforting as it gets.
So sweet!

The dens I am familiar with have had a plaid couch, an armchair and a 12" b&w television. A stereo in the corner where we listened to shows...
Girl! You should be doing stand up.

He's a looker,,,,if you get him in the game....I'll grab some eggs from you.....

Thanks, give me a few weeks. Maybe I'll get a few of my legbar girls seperated so they'll be ready when he's ready to join them. It would be great if I could send you some eggs via the chicken train. Though, that so depends on them finishing up their molt and laying, him not having any issues, and the girls accepting him lol

Morning! It's a good one

Ok I need advice !

My flock consists of 2 silkie roos, 6 silkie hens, 1 silver wyandotte roo, and 13 large fowl hens. I have been dealing with an aggressive silkie roo for a few weeks, he jumps and scratches the kids and myself, the silver wyandotte rooster has given me the stink eye, and stomped, but never actually jumped at anyone, and the last silkie roo just kinda hangs out and doesnt show any aggression.

Last night, i boxed up the silkie roo that has been terrorizing the yard for auction today. This morning I was looking forward to a better day, maybe even allowing the kids to play in the yard without being scared, and i opened the coop and the silver roo again gave me the look. when i was walking back towards the house he straight out run full throttle and attacks me with his feet, i pushed him back with my boot but he was non stop , being the wussy that I am, i screamed for help and my fiance had to come give him a good boot to get him off. Now i am trying to box him up so he also can head to the auction, of course thats not an east task in the daytime hours.

So what is wrong with me??? Am i doing something wrong that I have now had 2 roos that have been terrifying? Should I except the 3rd to act the same way once the others are gone? Is there a such thing as a roo who free ranges and doesnt attack people? Being so new at chicken keeping I am really feeling terrible. I wanted a roo because they are beautiful, sound neat, and protect my free ranging girls, but i cant keep a roo that will keep my family trapped indoors.

Any advice?

Nothing is wrong with you. It is bad luck. And the reason people think it is normal. The third could stay docile. I hope he does. My advice is to realize that it is not okay for an animal to attack you or anyone. Even another animal (unless it is food obviously). Most of us have extra DOCILE roosters around for free. Find out who is closest, and get a good rooster. I know Dennis, Stake, Fisherlady and I all have "no aggression allowed" rules.

As MCC said, bad luck....I've never had an aggressive roo, maybe because I make sure all the roos know that I am the 'big dog' on the block...

and I do have extra baby OE roos is you want them.....
