Everyone was out enjoying the sun today :)

Ana's baby from her last hatch, last fall (CCL x RIR). I just now noticed that I forgot to take a pic of her and her new baby lol

Onyx, my sweet AC cockerel

This little CCL pullet is quite taken with me. She was following me everywhere before she flew up to hang out on my shoulder. She wouldn't get down till I kicked her off lol.

And the brooder babies :)

Okay, eggs are in the bator, I figure I will turn on the egg turner tomorrow. Let them settle tonight.
@fisherlady, here is the temp of that package. Not bad, hopefully it was indoors not being jostled around. Thank you again!

@MotorcycleChick. That Vetrx stuff is incredible! My one Silkie has stopped sneezing as far as I can tell. The other one is sneezing less, if at all. Best of all, I haven't heard Wheezy wheezing in over a day! I am going to check on them now, but what an improvement! I'm definitely going to order the large size of that stuff. @dheltzel, you may want to give it a try if you haven't already. I hope now Wheezy will put on some weight and look better for the spring. My only disappointment is that I wasn't aware of this product before I put the little banty Cochin down. :/

Tomorrow will be 9 days until my broody becomes a Mama! :weee

Not to jump in, but, I think Blarney's advice not to turn eggs for a couple of days to ensure the air cell is attached might serve you better than turning tomorrow....my two cents...input welcome....

Sounds like a plan, I had forgotten about that!

Thanks for all the sand opinions!

My 'plan' for the chicks this spring is to keep them inside for a few weeks, then move them to the coop, keeping them inside of a dog crate. I had good luck last year with the heating pad method so I would probably do that in the dog crate.

I haven't quite figured out the introducing step but am hoping that by the crate being in the coop and them all being able to see each other, we will have minimal adjustments.

I watched a video once with someone who kept their crate in the coop for a while, keeping food and water in it, and leaving a small opening in the front that chicks could get through but full size chickens couldn't. So the chicks could come and go as they please and not have to fight for food and water.

All of this id of course just a starter plan since I don't have a dog crate yet or chicks

I think I may be loosing a chick. She's the same size as everyone and has more adult feathers than most of my group but she's stopped moving around and just sleeps. Two weeks old so I thought I'd be good

I'm sorry to hear this. Can you separate her? Is there blood in her stool? Coccidiosis seems to be the number one culprit around my place for the young chicks.
