chicken math is about to kick in. I have a silkie that has gone broody and am trying to figure out what breed of chicken eggs to put under her. Any thoughts? advice? Right now I have SLW, LO and australourp
Anne:Okay, eggs are in the bator, I figure I will turn on the egg turner tomorrow. Let them settle tonight.
@fisherlady , here is the temp of that package. Not bad, hopefully it was indoors not being jostled around. Thank you again!
@MotorcycleChick . That Vetrx stuff is incredible! My one Silkie has stopped sneezing as far as I can tell. The other one is sneezing less, if at all. Best of all, I haven't heard Wheezy wheezing in over a day! I am going to check on them now, but what an improvement! I'm definitely going to order the large size of that stuff. @dheltzel , you may want to give it a try if you haven't already. I hope now Wheezy will put on some weight and look better for the spring. My only disappointment is that I wasn't aware of this product before I put the little banty Cochin down.![]()
Tomorrow will be 9 days until my broody becomes a Mama!![]()

Anne:
Not to jump in, but, I think Blarney's advice not to turn eggs for a couple of days to ensure the air cell is attached might serve you better than turning tomorrow....my two cents...input welcome....
I think I may be loosing a chick. She's the same size as everyone and has more adult feathers than most of my group but she's stopped moving around and just sleeps. Two weeks old so I thought I'd be good![]()
