Long time reader, first time (or close to) poster checking in from Lehigh Valley (Allentown).  We have a small flock.  Previously we bought started pullets, this time we went with day old chicks that are now 4 weeks old.  Looking forward to getting them outdoors!

Oh I just love red beet eggs but I like mine kinda sweet well more vinegar tang then sweet. I find myself making batches of red beer eggs all the time just to use up eggs. The other day I was smoking some pork and threw in two dozen whole eggs in the shell for about an hour and a half. They were good to after they were done smoking they were like a medium boiled egg with a hint of smoke flavor. I think they would have made some great deviled eggs.

I put my bad bag in the trunk/back of my SUV overnight so nothing could get to it and TSC took the bad bag back when I exchanged it for a fresh one.

Eek! I think I may have fried my turkey eggs. Last night, I was keeping an eye on the temps, and it was seeming to go up fast enough. When I checked a bit later, it was up to 105. When I got in last night, the temp was about 101. This is a still air incubator. When I got up today, the temp was at 106!! I think my eggs are dead, but I will wait a few days and check anyways.
