The chicken chick has popped out of its shell, but the turkey doesn't seemed to have progressed. Eek! I will not intervene...

The chicken train is stopping in my neighborhood and no one told me? I think I have enough going on right now though. Have to pick up the meaties today...

You want to wave at the train as it passes by ?

I had no idea you were so close. I'm not so sure I'd be worried just yet with the pips you have, both chicken and turkey. It takes a lot of energy out of them to get to that point, a lot of chicks and poults take a very long rest after pipping, and sometimes mid zip.

Help please!

My lone surviving turkey egg has pipped and started to zip, but hasn't made any progress in several hours. Membrane looks tan. Should I try to moisten? Other chicken chick has hatched, and other chicken chick has a pip. Tomorrow is day 28.

I personally would help. Just go slow and if you see blood stop.

I helped the turkey pip, after posting in another thread. It had been sorta zipped since this mrorning, and has stopped, and seemed dry. One other langshan egg has pipped, in two spots. If nothing else happens in a few hours, I'm going to assist that one. They hatched early, and my humidity was not where it should have been.

I wasn't an actual 'conductor' on the chicken train today, I thought I'd be an 'observer' but ended up being more of an 'obstacle', Was quite late both picking up and dropping off. Ugh.

The Turkey Poults are tucked into their new digs. They are BEAUTIFUL, such a nice variety!! I can't wait to see them grow.

A kiddy pool! I forgot about those as brooders. I wonder if I can find one somewhere close...

Chicken train successfully made the Bedford stop around 4:15, dropping off eggs and chicks

Excellent! I hope those eggs all hatch. Some will be black, but they will all carry lavender and silkied and I like the size, color and shape of those eggs much better than the eggs my pure silkied Ams lay. Those pullets lay better too, I sometimes get 5 eggs from the 5 pullets, whereas 3 eggs from the 12 silkieds is a good day. All in all, I'm thinking this outcross to the Blehm lines will make a huge improvement in the line.
