Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I wasn't an actual 'conductor' on the chicken train today, I thought I'd be an 'observer' but ended up being more of an 'obstacle', Was quite late both picking up and dropping off. Ugh.

The Turkey Poults are tucked into their new digs. They are BEAUTIFUL, such a nice variety!! I can't wait to see them grow.

I'm glad you like them! I hope they do well for you :)

Would anybody like a free goose and a duck? I don't think I can take them on since they would need friends and a diffferent habitat. Bucks County Pickup area.

Wish I could help out. I'm absolutely loving my little goslings. They have such wonderful personalities. But, even if you were closer, hubby would have a heat attack if I brought home another one. He almost killed me when he found out about the two I brought home the other day. Luckily, I think he's secretly a water fowl person. The fact that they've imprinted on me and the kids has helped dramatically lol

Excellent! I hope those eggs all hatch. Some will be black, but they will all carry lavender and silkied and I like the size, color and shape of those eggs much better than the eggs my pure silkied Ams lay. Those pullets lay better too, I sometimes get 5 eggs from the 5 pullets, whereas 3 eggs from the 12 silkieds is a good day. All in all, I'm thinking this outcross to the Blehm lines will make a huge improvement in the line.

I'm very excited for them and I can't wait to see what hatches. Thank you so much for sending them! I'm going to make some splits of my own also. I'm going to put my silkied roo over my smooth girls. They're not Blehm line as far as I know so this will add even more blood to the mix. I'll put all of them together next year :)

Chicks arrived safe and sound in Pittsburgh today too, from Pottstown via the chick train. Thanks so much @dheltzel and @emorems0 !!

I will try to get good pics tomorrow, but they are all snugged up and tucked in bed now. @emorems0 , I hope the rest of your trip home was uneventful!

I am trying two new things with the brooder this time--a heating plate instead of a red lamp, and sand instead of shavings. So far, so good, but it's early to tell yet.

Hi,
I have a friend in Blairsville, Pennsylvania who has eight or nine cuckoo Sussex pullets that he needs to move right away they're $8 a piece which is a real good deal. they're from a hatchery I don't know which one. they are farm-raised and free-range.
if anybody is looking for some nice Cuckoo Marans pullets that are laying now, p.m. me and I'll give you his contact info . Going to cost much more than this to raise your own to laying age. He is downsizing to specialize in only one breed.
Thanks,
Karen

I thought about slipping one onto the chicken train...

I would not have argued! **but our landlord would have, lol. We do plan to get some Nigerian dwarfs one day when we are no longer renting.

Lots of new stops on the chicken train today, small load compared to past trips though. Anyone remember the time I had a couple of full grown turkeys back there? That was a fun trip! Lol I bet I still have the picture somewhere...
