Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Built a little paddock for the littles. SpiderGirl aka mom was getting really restless in that little coop.

I'd like to let them all into the flock soon. They are close to being 4-5 weeks old. I think the rooster needs to go first. Anyone in the Reinholds area want to process him?!

Here is Cookie! Loving her 10 new chickies, she is the one who adopted chicks I picked up locally. I am so lucky to be having such good luck with this implant, we haven't had even a hint of aggression from the other hens, this is the first time I ever let a hen brood with the flock, and geeze....i don't know why I ever did it any other way! I have cookies sister maple broody 6 chicks in a separate coop, and now I wish she was in with the rest of the crew!!!! If I add a momma with 3 week olds in with the main group with momma and her week olds does that spell disaster? Will the mommas try to kill other hens chicks??

Love those broodies! My girls are still taking the chicks around all day and doing a great job. It's so interesting to see how they are all different though. The Bielefelder has been the most consistent and attentive broody. The Black sex link is seeming to separate first, but they still seem to take turns also.

Bad news, my meaties seemed to have gotten that sinus infection where their eye swelled up pretty bad. Not all of them got it, but several did.

Good news! After a week treating them all with the Vetrx, they are seeming to all recover. I can't even tell which one was the real bad one now.
