This winter has been rough. I went out this morning and a dead chicken in nesting box. Sigh. It was cookie. One of my two Wyandotte/Welsummer crosses. It really sucks as she lays giant eggs. Two good laying hens dead in less then a month.

I'm so sorry for your loss I lost a cochin hen and a silkie feathered lavender ameraucana roo this winter. It's so hard to lose them

So sorry, do you think it was the cold that got her?

Sorry for your loss. It is tough to lose a bird. A few days ago I found 2 dead bantam pullets. They are small and seem to have tougher time with the cold. It made me sad to lose them, all the lavender ameraucana bantam pullets are naturally super tame. They are the only breed that will readily eat from my hand with to special training.

Aw, that’s a shame too. I’m still amazed this little Silkie I have keeps going. She’s got to be 8 or 9 now. She’s such a tough girl. Our every day with the rest of them. Sleeps in a nesting box, but I think that’s normal for silkies.

Wow, I think we’ve all lost a couple this year. I was particularly sad that the ones I lost were good CCLs and Black sex links.

I am so glad to have some peeps soon from thn incubator. My Biele shipped eggs are doing well, out of 11, only two did not develop. They are much harder to candle, so it is a waiting game for now.

Saddle cell won't be too much of an issue at lockdown as long as it's stable and not rolling around. If it's wiggly or rolling, then you'll definitely want it hatching upright.

Well the flu hit out family this week...NOT fun. I did manage to set some eggs set though, so hopefully will have some cute fluff butts in a couple of weeks! My last hatch was a mess. Only ended up hatching two BCMs and one Amer from shipped eggs which was a bummer. Hoping this hatch goes way smoother since they are our own eggs!

-3 green eggs are from a friend - poss EEs Out of a lav Cuckoo Amer roo I sold her.
-4 Brown eggs (two were put in an hour later) are EEs - will be spit to lav and poss NNs
-The rest are all out of my lav cuckoo Amer project
