Thank you :) Lollipop is a Chinese goose (he's the smaller one with the white band on his chest) and Sunshine is an African goose. They're my sweet boys. They view me as mom and I think mate too lol. They're not as sweet to anyone they don't know.
They are lovely--how mean are geese? My mom has told me horror stories from her chilhood in Wisconsin. I am not sure what kind of geese her grandfather had--but it was back in the 1930s....

Hey! Check out my new mutant herons!

Hello there! I am probably the closest to you. I am in Northern Bucks County, but I used to live closer to the middle. Pallets can always be found on Craigslist, under the free section. Also, there are several industrial business areas in Bensalem and the NE philly area. Try taking a drive around the campuses. Many time you will find pallets by the curb. I always ask before I take, just to be sure. If you still need help, I have a source in Warminster that puts them out all the time. The last time, they had some with 1/2” plywood on the side already. They are perfect pre made walls! You will probably need a strong friend to help though, those suckers get heavy.

I was so thankful (and I still am) for this forum. When I was getting my second coop ready after our move, @Auroradream26 recommended I elevate my coop for the girls, so that th y could run underneath. Also, so that I could crawl underneath if I had to catch anyone. I have...

That is part of my plan, to elevate it. I just think it helps contribute to their floor space and our super hot summer days for extra outdoor shade. In fact, here's 1 of my multiple pages of plans/blueprints.

I'm making my coop & run 2 halves, with pvc pipes (like sled tracks) under the base to be able to be shuffled around the yard. I may not be satisfied with its placement. Plus it could be used to split up for extreme cleaning or for easier moving, giving the girls a fresh area in the yard, etc.

I'll have to check the free section on CL then, I was doing a "pallet" search. Great ideas on where to get them too.

Thank you :) How mean they are I guess depends on the breed and how they're raised but like all, it can be an individual thing too. My boys are very sweet to me and hubby (we're mom and dad) but can get mean with the kids. Last year, they hated my son. This year yet haven't messed with him really at ask but have gone after my daughter once. They hate dogs and will attack them on sight and will chase intruders unless we're there with them. They truely are the "guard dogs" of the flock!

Yes I do remember...and I know how disappointed you were when you lost her. So glad to see a couple more have hatched! Must be some of your stock have recessive genes which agree/match up to make your 'Sprinkles' chicks!

They must! It's very exciting! I kept one feather from Sprinkles when she died. I'm curious to see if they develope the same color pattern.

YES! Please spring!

Long time not see btw. Welcome back!
Thanks. I was dealing with both of my parents, or trying to. My mom had 2 mini strokes in February 2017 and Dad had 3 strains of lymphoma cancer discovered in early July 2017. Mom is almost completely recovered, but dad is still in bed and needs to be helped.

That is a lot of weight to bear....:hugs
You have my prayers and good thoughts for all your family is going through. I can certainly understand why you aren't able to be online much...just know we are always around when you need some 'away time' for a few minutes.

Hey guys, just popping in real quick to ask for some advice. I recently lowered the price for our eggs on the facebook marketplace to $2 a dozen. Now I am getting a LOT of messages asking for eggs and I'm sold out for the next week or 2 already. I'm very glad but a bit worried now. First of all, with the extra "income" - do I need to claim on taxes or will I get in any sort of trouble for selling produce without any licenses?

Also, does anyone have a produce stand by the road? I'm thinking of doing that but would just leave food (veggies from the garden) out and let people pay me what they think is fair (in a box by the food)? I'm doing all this for the community not for money, but I don't want to be robbed or taken advantage of.

Thanks if you can give me any input!!! :hugs

My accountant said everything counts, but under $1,000 doesn’t matter.
You will be covering your bottom if you only use plain egg cartons. No one else’s name on them. Have your name and number printed on the cartons. I used address labels people sent when asking for money.
