Le Blackbird is correct. We will be driving to Dover Delaware to pick up a double silver lace Barnevelder--I am nabbing the only loose pullet, but the breeder has a pair for 100. and cockerels for 25. I don't mind being a chicken train--it seems a shame to go all that way and not get a pair for someone!

I would've probably taken you up on that if I didn't have so many things ordered already, LOL

One of my "Sprinkles" poults has become quite the momma's baby. I heard all kind of crying coming from the brooder a little bit ago...it was the baby. I pet it for a few minutes and walked away. 5 minutes later, the crying starts again. Guess who's asleep now, being held against my shoulder lol. The other is ,ore skittish and standoffish so far. Maybe that will change.

Put 191 eggs into lockdown tonight. 71 Cream Legbars. The hatch percentage has not been great on these, I hope it picks up, I'm having trouble keeping up with demand for Legbars.
The first 2 Australian Spotted duck eggs were infertile. I set 22 more last Saturday. It's hard to wait until Fri to candle them. I swapped out the drake anyway, just in case. The 5 females are laying 3 - 4 eggs a day now. They are surprisingly large. I really want some of these to hatch :fl

Sorry for thread hogging again, but I got some good pictures of the chicks tonight.

This one is a unknown mix female. Starting to develop feathers on her legs though!

Ayam Cemani Mix, suspected female.

This one has to be a roo, because it's the biggest. It did come out of a large EE egg. It's so cute though! He has been named Spot already.

A CCL/Marans (mom) mix. Not sure who the dad is, but may be the same. Another cute suspected female.

Disregard my long nails. It is my trained profession, and I practice different techniques on myself.

I'm having the opposite issue. My CCL are hatching great, with great pullet to cockerel ratios but there is ZERO demand for them so far this year :/

Mom sent me this, thought you all could get a chuckle out of it too!

I’m still giggling at this terrible/gross/awesome picture. Lol!

:yuckyuck

Hooolyyy moley it's been a little bit. Good thing I didn't miss too much. Hello to our new person from me here in Berks County! @LeBlackbird also says hi since she's sitting right next to me as I type this. :p

So I managed to actually get a steal and a half yesterday. I bought a Brinsea Octagon 20 with a dozen of hatching eggs for $200! And the hatching eggs are 5 Black Copper Marans and the rest Bielfelders. These eggs are huge and beautiful! So if anyone wants any extras please let me know (the Marans I'm gonna keep unless I get a roo).

I'm down a few birds so hopefully the giant amount of chicks Susan's getting will help with that, lord knows there's gonna be a bunch more Ameraucanas. (Of course lol). I'll try to keep you guys posted on this hatch along, I'm super excited!

Awesome deal! Where did you get those Biele eggs from? I’d sure love maybe a couple of girls from another line, to add to mine. I only got two females from my hatch. :pop I’d be willing to trade for some full grown layers instead of money too, if you’d like. I love those BCM too.

Awesome! So glad to hear you got some more. Maybe the name should be Snuggles now. :lau

Glad your having success with the leg bars. Sorry to hear about the duckies, but I’m sure you will get it worked out, Go drake #2! :caf

I got the biel and bcm eggs from the same guy I bought the incubator from. His name is Steve and he's actually in Bucks. There's the Bucks County poultry group on facebook that I joined and that's where I found him.

And... @LeBlackbird and I were at TSC unsupervised...

They're Red Rangers, so our first meaties! I had some old hay that I couldn't give to the rabbits so it works pretty well for their bedding. And here's the incubator and the eggs.
