Thank you. It’s so odd not having a dog here.

I know this is such a personal choice, but for me, a dog-less house makes the pain of the loss unendurable. A new pet, who needs you --and who you might very well need the most right now---won't make you miss your baby any less, but (for me) it helps the empty house feeling and honors the years of love that (again, for me) eventually over shadow the grief.
Here is Max, who I lost this year at 14

--with Percy who is now 7. We also have Elliott (age four) in the house. Elliott's job was to console my elderly mom when she lost her dog Winston(age 14).
