Hi all!
I'm in south central pa, looking for salmon favorelles, olive Eggers, marans, or swedish flower hens. Anyone have any for sale? I've tried looking in the buy/ sell/ trade forum but it's overwhelming with so few listings having location clearly visible. Is there a way to filter that forum to pa only? Thanks!

I will have F2 sex linked Olive eggers and black copper Marans the spring but nobody is laying right now. I'm near Patton, PA Casanova 35-40 minutes north west of Altoona

Boys or girls? The silvers have reddish chests which makes me think girls even if one has a longer tail. The lavs are so hard to tell. Two of them have some red at the top of their beaks, the other 3 do not.

The chickens I got from you have just started laying. I love the olive egg color, darker in person than I could get a good picture of. And the blue egg laying sex links have started also. Still waiting on the legbars to start laying. Just wanted to say Thank You!! I’m so excited to have some different colored eggs in my egg basket.

My little CCL Midget is having a hard molt! But yesterday she was in the nest box and laid this weird thing. It looks like a poorly formed egg. It had a membrane, no shell, and seemed to be all egg white. Must have been a blip on the system !

Also, I’m finally getting my packet of Agrimycin 343 from an internet company today. I had to have my vets fax a prescription, and then have it shipped from California. Thankfully, it wasn’t expensive, and it will be enough to treat my flock several times over. So if I have an issue again, I can treat right away.

@dheltzel , I got my bill the other day from Penn State Diagnostics. It was only $42 for them to look at my two birds, and run cultures and all. The shipping was the most expensive part. Just an FYI, since you had asked before.

Hope everyone is doing well and is busy with this nice fall weather. I am trying to get my setup ready for winter. I am doing a modified version of @dheltzel s Hoop Tractor coop. Thanks Dennis for your clear and specific instructions! On the right hand side, which is almost completed, is a hooped area which will be tarped. In the middle is a door frame, so that I can access the run and walk into the soon to be fenced in area in the woods. On the other side of the door frame will be another hoop setup, but with no tarp, so that they can get sunshine if they are in the run for a couple of days. They also will have some dry area underneath the coop. When there is snow on the ground, this way they will have some area that is dry without my shoveling.

I'm so glad they're working out for you! I love that Olive color! I kept 3 of the Olive ever pullets at the end of the hatching season but they haven't started laying yet. I've been anxious to see how dark the eggs are. Thank you for the preview! The next set of Olive ever will be the girls that I kept this season covered by a BCM roo. This will be the last sex linked generation and only half will lay Olive eggs but that Olive should be VERY Olive :)

@AnneInTheBurbs, you know where you can get some Olive ever eggs ...... ;)

I'm starting some roo subtraction today. I have about 6 boys that need to go. Today I'll be taking care of 2 of them. A big orpington and a BCM. I'm going to try to take care of 2 more tomorrow and maybe 2 on Friday. If anyone needs a really good roo before I process him, I have a wonderful crele orpington who is a great flock protector and if not agressive. I also have another orpington, very light blue/splash, a dark blue silkie, and a one eyed silkie feathered lavender ameraucana who is very meek.

Silkie chicks are due to hatch here on Friday. 7 of 7 were fertile so all are going in to lockdown tonight. That hen went broody a few days later so she has two eggs due not long after these. Then of course, my showgirl hen started laying so I have 4 of her eggs in the Bator too .... Every time I try to stop for the season, I get sucked back in :he

No one wanted to hazard a guess as to gender of my newbies?

look mostly "girly" to me, not an expert at these things though...need better head-shots to make better guesses.

AnneInTheBurbs..
Very nice coop-run!
Funny how our ideas morph from one way into another.
Our coop is more a motel now than a poultry house.;)
Your girl is looking how I am feeling this morning...weird egg and-all...she has a " i have absolutely no idea what is happening to me" look on her face:confused:
