Well, then this is the perfect opportunity to get ducks!! The drakes can keep each other company until spring when you get 14 more ducks!!

Did you know that the Pennsylvania humane societies are becoming no kill? I don’t think they ever killed the livestock. Anyway, the drakes are likely to be snatched up by someone that has a big pond, and enjoys ducks all over.

I haven’t been able to find someone with a big pond though

I had to butcher a hen over the weekend. Some how she cut her bottom beak off. I need to go around the pen a check for sharp things.

Are possums a danger to chickens? I know they are beneficial to the ecosystem and I don't even think they are that ugly (well, a little ugly), but they do not belong in my yard! Fenris alerted to one, I think he'd have tried to maybe kill it himself. Got it to play dead until husband could make it true. Big thing - about 15 to 20 lbs.
