I don’t know what happened, but a pullet went missing during the day two days ago. I hoped she just jumped into a neighbor’s coop in the evening, but they likely would have let her out by now.
Poor Mariah Carey.
sorry to ear about your pullet, hopefully she is just wondering...trying to be positive.
:hugs

Just got my CPT license renewal, anyone else ? :)
I only use this for my own flock testing & diagnostics.
Wouldn't be fair of me to promise to test someones show birds then have one of my issues keep me from being there for them. Would feel awful & hate to be the reason they did't get to show.
Keeping up with all the latest news about health/legal/global infectious issues etc. is important especially having animals , pet & production.
But that's JMO;).

I am sure she misses you too.
Alot can happen to people in a very short period of time that will reallly change them. Leaving them feel like they would never want to pull others down with them, trying to lighten the load of also.
It is sad for both sides, ...sometimes we have to take a break from many aspects of life in order to just survive the day, mentally & physically.
I believe that is most likely the case with her.

How is your new pup doing?
Hopefully getting into a good groove with his new home.:)

Just got back from a quick trip to Lancaster County.
We drove down in that terrible rain/wind crap Friday night.
That was very scary..,saw two accidents along the way too.
The amount of water on the roads and fields was incredible.
Very sorry to hear they are getting more rain Monday & Tuesday too.

How are all the Lanc. Co. peeps handling all the wet weather??
and all the basically eastern parts of PA??
We have been really watching our birds for wet foot issues...so many people seem to be having these problems, wonder if the excessive wet weather doesn't help increase these issues?

Maaco peed in the hall last evening. My fault, but I had to go before taking him out. He wanted in the dog pen, so I left him there. I ran the carpet scrubber in a few rooms, and put it away. Maaco was so ready to come inside. Before coming in, he started around the side of the house. It doesn’t usually mean anything, so I made him come in. Two minutes later, he pooped on my clean carpet.

Today he rolled in chicken, deer and mystery poo all within five minutes. :lau I just bathed him a few days ago! Fortunately, he wasn’t actually dirty, and doesn’t stink. I’m trying to remember that this stuff comes in the house on our shoes anyway. It’s only really okay because he doesn’t get to go into my roon.

Everything is a swamp at our place, but not as bad as out east, thankfully.

We went to Erie Friday night to be at campground early Saturday morning for a disabled veterans get together/fishing day, we do the baking for the picnic every year. 25 dozen cookies, 3 egg custard pies & 5 loaves of banana bread. Thankfully the main meal is provided by a local restaurant.
The picnic ends our season up north, so weekends now belong to home projects again.

Has anyone else seen an increase in deer this year? I have not had deer (or bear) in my yard since the year I got the chickens. Suddenly, I had a young buck back by the fruit trees, and now a big doe right by the back door. Plus the roadkill in front of the mailbox.

And you are free to bake with me for the holidays?!?:smack
My goodness woman, do you even have time to have the cape dry-cleaned?
I literally just looked at the to-do list, put it down, picked up cup of coffee and started reading another DIY idea on the contraption:caf...yep..so totally how this day is going...

:hugs...he will get it....will just take a bit of learning each others ques...and probably more spot cleanings..feel free to vent here:hugs...
We had springer spaniels for many years...our last one (Fudd), had the incredible knack for finding bear-poop..oh my goodness is that the most rank stuff ever!!:sick...

right now our "little" boy (pom) is having a time of it dealing with our girls "time"...he is a gentle man, just wants to love her, but she is in need of a break from his attention. She should be "done" in another week , but until then her patience with him lessens every day:barnie:rant...
The 8 month old just thinks its all fun and games, she is oblivious...for now. :wee

So far so good.
Ducklings are loving it.
I will be checking feet tonight.
I would hope the ducks are loving this!!...would have to worry when they are tired of the wet!!

The whole way back up here yesterday there where deer carcasses everywhere...made me very sad, such a waste...not to mention all other little critters...haven't seen bear yet, although earlier there was one being a nuisance to the neighbors garden. We didn't have trouble with him, not sure why. We have fruit trees, bushes..food everywhere....not complaining, just wondering..:hmm
