Had to deal with the wind damage to my main coop roof this morning... it only took the Tweedles one day to find a way to escape through the hole in the roof. The Tweedles (Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum) are my blue egg laying black sexlinks from @dheltzel and they are ESCAPE ARTISTS who can also fly over an 8-9ft fence. They are real trouble makers and so much harder to catch when I can't just chase them back into a chicken run (but they DO lay beautiful eggs). I have my main coop chickens contained in the big coop until I can finish getting my old run dismantled and new run put up. Glad I had an extra scrap of roofing in the garage that I could clamp on there for the time being.

I'm going to be looking to pick up some chicks on Easter break... dark dark brown egg layers and green, maybe a different blue egg layer too. What have you got? :jumpy @Auroradream26 @dheltzel or anyone else who's hatching and along my route (Allentown or Pittsburgh, along the turnpike)?

I have black copper marans, F2 sex linked Olive eggers, light brahmas, and IF the ameraucanas and Seramas ever start laying, I'll have some of those too. I do have 1 black and 2 lavenders right now that are a few weeks old. If you wanted any English orpingtons, I could get my pair separated (the other girl is broody). I could separate silkies too if you want.

What do your olive eggers look like? I'll definitely take a pair of BCM, their eggs are so pretty! What color are your orpingtons? I miss the orpington I got from chiques chicks (is he still around?), I cried big ugly tears when the raccoon got her last summer).

I'll have to get some pictures of the older olive eggers so that you can see what they look like. They're similar in color to the marans but with more copper speckled over them. Some have crests passed on from their grandparents (ccl). They're very pretty :) My orpingtons are BBS and BIG lol

I have Welbars for dark brown eggs, Legbars, Ameraucanas and those black sexlinks for blue eggs, and Olive Eggers that are a hybrid of Welbars and Legbars. I also have some Lavender Orpingtons incubating now.
