Surprisingly no wind damage here, but there was enough locally that the high school still doesn't have power and several roads still closed because of blocked roads. My kids got another school closure, I think they'll be in school half the summer at this point.

@Auroradream26 would you be able to meet me for a chicken train over Easter? I think by then I'll have my extra coop set up and I need more chickens, lol

Most likely! You know me, always willing to help, enable, whatever you want to call it lol

The board over the coop itself on the mini coop blew off, there’s some tar paper off of the big coop, the doors are a little messed up on the metal shed, and my blue barrel I use for chick feed outside is MIA.

When I removed the cover from the quail this morning, they ran over to the feed area to wait for me. :love Not that they were out, they just know. I returned a moment later with water, and they were jumping on my hand and arm. It’s so adorable how they just accept me. I think it’s a game bird thing. The poults and ducklings were always happy to see me too. The chicks not so much.
:lau The chickens come running when they see me coming out to feed and water. Yesterday I left the coop, and everyone came running after me again. They didn’t want their food and water inside, they wanted food outside!! I had to give them scratch to keep them out of the house.
Come to think of it, the dog wanted outside yesterday to eat. Since he spends so much time outside, I have food and water out on the porch for him as well as in the house.

Looks like I was wrong on the initial wind damage assessment, we did lose the patch on the main chicken coop roof, so there is a hole open again. Another project I planned to tackle in the spring that's going to get pushed up bc I cant find the panel that I had been using as a patch.

@Auroradream26 are you still experimenting with meat bird crosses? We had a Male that we were trying to get to breeding age to try and cross with our dark cornish but he died before the dark cornish started laying again. I really want to see what we'd get adding some cornish X genes to our Delaware over dark cornish cross. We had so many problems with the raccoon last summer so we couldn't keep any earlier cornish X and even rationing food for the last guy he couldn't make it all the way through winter.
