Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Okay, my fellow PA chicken friends! Help needed!

:jumpy:jumpy:jumpy

I've committed to raising 6 backyard chickens! First timer, here. And while I don't have the means to build my own coop, I did find help to build a large 8 x 16 enclosed run... So, I'm in need of some feedback on coops I have found for purchase... I tried to narrow them down with the 4sqft recommendation in mind:

I welcome all feedback!! As well, if anyone has recommendations on other coops for purchase- looking to stay under $500.

Thank you in advance!!! :D

I love the pre-fabricated coops. I hate that they fall apart in two months or less.
If you have help, build it yourself. Take three, 2x4’s, and nail a sheet of plywood across them. Do it five more times. Nail it all together (actually, I prefer screws), and add chickens.
Okay, the front needs a door. Ya gotta add that. Add overhang all around, and you can cut out some plywood, attach hardware cloth, and you have ventilation.

These quail are just too funny. They made a fuss when they saw me, stampeded when I opened the door, and were like a pack of wolves on a fawn.
I checked the weather. Yesterday’s promise of 41 today is only 38*. However, this weekend we can turn on our spigots! :celebrate:celebrate No more gathering up gallon jugs or carrying heavy buckets. Not to mention, no more hoping there’s nothing gross on said containers that are being filled in the house.

Dammitall and other bad words. I put Colleen back in the coop at dusk last night because I truely thought she was well enough. Well, she would have been except she got bullied big time again by Ruth and the others seem to join in. And Clyde is very very rapey to her. Her neck and head is all bloody again after less than 24 hours. Pics included. I have her back in the bathroom again but we're going to have to build a separate run for her and one or two of the non-bullying girls. I had hoped that eliminating Ruth would have helped but I guess not.
