Ok.... so how much is the going rate for hens from 10-14 months.... Laying, some already brooded? Many are 7+ lbs due to white rock blood?
Someone just said he would buy them for $5??? Sorry, but at that $ I will let them egg for the summer and butcher them myself in the fall.... I know they aren't worth a fortune but for cripes sake food isn't free and these birds are young and actively egging, not worn out hens!
I told him no thanks, I will keep the eggs and meat for ourselves at that price!
:he:barnie

Sorry, rant over... :duc

That's rediculous. I hate low ballers. Around here, you can maybe get $10-15 for them, depending.

Thank you Ladies! :hugs
I feel better now knowing it wasn't just me.... out of all the parts of raising animals I honestly hate selling the most... worrying about them getting good homes and being cared for. And yes, Aurora, low ballers irritate the bark off of me!
Any more of this BS and I may be bringing these adults to the next swap sale!

I agree with the other two. I get $20 no problem in my area. We are closer to a few cities, but I could probably get more for specialty breeds at POL.

Ducklings are getting so big.

That was an awesome storm last night! It hit us around 10:30 I think. I love a good storm! Hope everyone stayed safe last night. I think all is good here. I just did a quick glance out the window though. Heavy winds expected all day today.

That storm was horrible! We got a lot of rain, wind, and quarter-size hail. Many people had holes in their siding, or dents on their cars. We got lucky with no damage. All this rain is delaying the build of my new coop tho :barnie

They are indeed! I’ve been surprised how fast mine are growing too, even though I was properly warned.

We all know the most important part is that the chickens are happy.
