So this little chick

was being mean to the other chicks. It was pecking and pulling at their toes. So it got moved out to the chicken coop under a broody hen. She is a happy hen.

Remind me what part of the state you are in, my daughter wants to make an earthbag Hobbit house in our backyard. And despite also stocking up on my own bags with the intention of sewing tote bags I'm sure I don't have the 200 or so bags we will need for her project
Seriously, how can I get these bags to you? I have tons.

Got some budding romance in the turkey pen. I regularly let just the hens out to free range for an hour or so. Well, 2 male guineas have taken a shine to the hens and follow them around like they are truly infatuated. They even hop back into the pen with the hens, and guineas are notorious for not liking confinement.
It appears the even in birds it seems fair to trade your freedom for love . . .

It may be really late to mature, general time frame is that it should be 'knee high by the 4th of july'.... I think that is to give it the best chance of maturing during the dog days of summer in August with decent moisture content. Don't know if late September conditions are right for it. Definitely would need to be in full sun area and may be ok if we have a warm late summer.
