Hatching eggs never gets old. I am so excited. I cannot wait for the rest of the eggs to start hatching. ❤❤

With the death of my head rooster I’m thinking I should do a test hatch to make sure the younger roos are getting the job done. I’m really worried about getting stuck with the chicks though, I shouldn’t keep any more brothers and sisters together. I don’t know what to do.

I just got an updated report from Penn State for Henny. She actually had a second type of cancer in her other than Marek's tunors. But they cannot tell what caused the second type cancer. I don't know if I should get any more chicks if there is another disease in my flock. All my other girls look healthy though.

Yeah, she mentioned it could be avian leukosis viruses or just something natrually happened to Henny. The problem is that Marek vaccine can cause avian leukosis worse. I guess I have to watch how rest of my flock doing before adding any new chicks. I'm down to 5 girls now.

I looked it up, and, from what I am understanding, it should not be ALV. My understanding is that it has a low mortality, but also that it was eradicated by the ‘90’s.

There are many strains of ALV. And I didn't learn enough information about it. Penn State said it's too expensive to check all the possibilities of the cancer cause and it could just happen without any external cause. She just said IF it's ALV, there is nothing I can do about it.

I think another of my pretty pullets is magically morphing into a roo. Hatched in late October.

Thought I spotted some pointed saddle feathers today. My hybrids are impossible to sex!! I’ll have to get more pics later. Hard to photograph a white bird by flashlight.
