Room is relative. You can just build a second coop, or second floor.I only have room for one more. Considering the BO
Its a zoning/legal issue sadlyRoom is relative. You can just build a second coop, or second floor.
I think we could be friends.....and side note, this is how I ended up with 7 dogs haha. I mean, they are little, so its kind of like all of them added together equal one 70 lb dog.Tell them it’s chicken math, and you only have one chicken. Or, tell them some are visiting.
we can't even have 1 rooster here.....rooster ban in full force. So only us girls lolYour new chicks don’t count as chickens because they might not thrive. Hens don’t count because they are working at laying eggs IE, your employees. Your main roosters don’t count because they are your security guards and alarm clocks. Extra roosters don’t count because they are food.
You should really check Dennis's website:we can't even have 1 rooster here.....rooster ban in full force. So only us girls lol
They are supposedly sexed chicks from the hatchery (and I got my others there so hopefully they are right lol). I'll check out his page. ThanksYou should really check Dennis's website:

He has autosexing chickens, so you don't need to worry about being rooster. And those legbars are friendly and lay lots of blue eggs at even older age. Good for small flocks. His oliver eggers and Welbars are friendly and lay good too. If you get a BO from a feedstore, there is a good chance to get a rooster. I'm going to get a BO this year from a hatchery, but I'm allowed to have a rooster as long as my neighbors don't complain. I don't want to buy mail-in chicks in general, but my son wants an Ameraucana really bad. So I will take a chance this year and hope it will work out.
Hatcheries have about 80~90% accuracy for the gender (100% for sexlink or autosexing breeds), but feedstores are much worse due to human mistakes. i believe you cannot order just one chick from a hatchery, so you can only get yours from a feedstore or a breeder. One time I saw half of "red-sexlink pullets" chicks were light yellow in tractor supply. I felt aweful for who bought those chicks, because they were obviously either male or another breed. So I decided not to buy any bird from tractor supply. Several friends bought their chickens from tractor supply had terrible results. One bought 7 "Ameraucana pullets" last year, and actually had 4 male and 3 female easter eggers. They are supposedly sexed chicks from the hatchery (and I got my others there so hopefully they are right lol).
