@feliciadawn How are the new chicks? You at your limit now?
Unfortunately, 2 died (one polish, one spitz). I tried to take heroic measures, and in fact the little polish was in our master bathroom getting special care until she finally passed yesterday afternoon. Corid did not work, and the ones that went were sick from the get-go. I think/hope the others will make it. So of the new ones I am left with 2 spitz, the Banty cochin from you (who seems to be nonfrizzled female) and one polish. If 2 come out male -- I will end up with 2 new chicks.

At the same time I have to rehome some banty boys. One is a D'Uccle that I will send to a rooster rescue on Saturday unless someone here wants him. The other is a silkie with a club foot. I don't know if I have the heart to send a disabled silkie to the rescue. Thoughts? He doesn't crow yet, just sort of limps around and honks quietly. Anyway, all told I think I am going to end up with 6 LF and 4-6 smaller chickens -- so I'll be just about at capacity. My biggest issue is the older hens won't let the newer pullets roost. Otherwise they tolerate one another but I feel bad that some pullets are sleeping in the nest box. Your Opal Legbar (named Harlow) is the brightest of the bunch. She waits until it is just dark enough and then she quietly pops up on the roost next to the meanest hen, who doesn't realize a pullet is next to her. Harlow is also the first to figure out any new feeder. Adam's children look gorgeous and are brawny, but they just aren't that smart.

Where are the best/cheapest places around NEPA that you get your feed from? I'm interested in either layer or all flock feeds. My local agway used to do a 100lb mash for $24 but have stopped doing it so I'm back in the market

Try your local feed mill, they will often work with you for your needs and offer the best price.
Central Pa here and our local feed just went up again. I was paying $20 for hundred weight and .60 a bag for delivery. Now it is $22 a bag and $1 delivery per bag

Cocci seems to hit here hardest after heavy summer rains and seems like the teens and pre teens fall to it most often.
Odd thing is we are not getting the storms that race across the state every couple days, but it has been so humid that nothing really dries out. We normally have a wind tunnel effect here in the valley between the mountains but even that is not blowing to dry it out.

It is hitting my turkey pen the hardest. Really upsetting since it took me 3 years to get that pen set up.

How did everyone fare today with the storm? I had minimal damage, but it tore the roof off of the second quail pen, and I had to round up a few birds. I’ll have to do a better job ASAP.

Over here in Chester Co, we got steady rain much of the day. We really needed it, our immediate area got skipped my the recent storms and I was even resorting to watering some of the lawn.

Storm knocked down a few dead branches when it blew in but otherwise didn't cause any problems, other than delaying mowing the yard to this morning.
I was running the little backhoe to move firewood (hubby did heavy lifting, me and my boot cast got to relax on the backhoe, which is easy to run once I am on it).. my dog Dillon hates storms, usually he won't ride on backhoe with me but when that wind started yesterday he decided that a backhoe ride was less scarey than the storm and he climbed right up. After a few minutes he realized he was enjoying it and it was cool to be a tractor dog. Kendra (the pup) had panicked on an earlier attempt at a ride but when she saw Dillon up with me she was jealous enough to give it a rethink, plus she adores Dillon and if he does something she will follow. So that storm blowing in like it did wasn't such a bad thing.
