I put the SPR eggs in lockdown. One quit after about a week, but the other 7 were wiggling a few days ago. I’m assuming this will be my last batch of chicks for the year.
SPR are sure pretty! But I have enough broodies and don't need more. Sunny goes broody every 4 weeks. Others joined her once a while. The biggest problem with Sunny is she becomes so mean to the chicks after she came out of broody jail.

 I have a SPR egg. Either Easter chick is laying at 19 weeks, or one of the last group is laying again. I need to stop jinxing myself.
… the thought being she might want more chicks in two weeks, and I just said I was doing the last hatch of the year.

I have a broody pile in my turkey pen.... pretty much half the flock. One tom and about 6 hens all piled in the corner. I heard a peeping egg this morning when I fed everyone but I've been on the run all day so I haven't had time to check what's going on. I was trying to kick everyone out to go eat but stopped when I heard the peeping. We'll see if they actually do hatch anything... that's a lot of bird in that pile lol. It's Phil, Sweet Pea, Pebbles, Baby, Lil, Princess, and I saw Bella in the mix but I'm not sure if she was "in" the group or just checking things out lol
