I am just starting to work on calicos and I just love them!!
 
My chickens survived the weekend with my husband in charge while the kids and I went to NYC! Not only that, I mentioned the farm show in January, and he said he would go with me! He's even been offering to close up the coop, etc. lately. He's more of a car guy, so it's shocking, ha ha! I am hoping when he sees all the cool breeds of chickens at the show, he won't be so hesitant for me to start coop #2 and 3. I want to get some show chickens for the boys, and some more layers or meat birds.
 
Odd answer to the question:

Little Coop: 2 Wellie Cockerels and 1 Wellie Pullet. Little Coop is inside big coop, and the babies all decided they wanted out of it today...came home to 1 of the guys outside with the ducks! And the other 2 running around in the big coop...ok...1 was hiding in a corner...but still.

Big Coop:
1 Delaware Roo, 1 Delaware Hen
3 Barred Rock Hens
2 Buff Orpington Hens
1 BLRW Roo, 2 BLRW Hens
2 Wellie Hens
2 or 3 Americaunna Roos

So yeah...my numbers are out of whack too!

Apparently in Cumberland County you don't have to have the 10 acres (we only have 3) or sell $X from the "farm" as Fiancee has had the Homestead deal for years.

See, I read that. I am on 4 acres so I know I have enough acreage. I may call the tax woman again and see what's up.
