Mash is a powder as far as I'm concerned. I wet it and ferment it with dry yeast. You really don't want to feed it dry... they waste it and it chokes them up far worse than crumble (imagine eating flour straight up, lol).
Hmm give me the run down on the fermenting?? why? does the yeast benefit there health?, HOW?

It just "pre-digests" the stuff, so it helps their bodies absorb the nutrients. Kind of like eating yogurt to help maintain our gut flora. It helps save on feed. Mine eat a rough estimate of 25% less feed if it's fermented.

I did a cocktail of ibuprofen and aceteominophin, but at this point, I'm seriously considering a half dose of codeine. It didn't hurt when I did it, so I know the morning will be rough. Dad and I were just talking about the issues we have with our joints. Apparently, they could never figure out what exactly was wrong with him either!

Oh Betta! OUCH!!!

I have severe knee issues too, so I know how this feels. Hope you are not in too much pain this morning!

Thanks! I actually feel pretty good! I took a half dose of codeine and went to bed early. Of course, not before getting a cat hair in my eye, lol. Woke up to a glued shut eye, but the eye is good, the knees are good and I'm enjoying my coffee, lol.

The part that drives me nuts is the doctors. I was five when I first got checked, they said growing pains. A few years later, they said it was "attention-seeking behavior", then after I gained 30lbs, it was because I was fat. I finally gave up looking for a diagnosis, lol.

Glad you feel ok.

I had surgery on my one knee when I was about 23. I remember the doctor telling me I would never have any more problems with my knees after that ..... riiiiight!

About 4 years ago, the pain increased so much and I started getting a lot of fluid behind my knee cap. I was supposed to go to Africa and opted to stay home and just have hubby go because my knee hurt so much. Good thing too. On his 2nd day there, I was in the doctor's office having 1/3 of a cup of fluid drained. Could barely walk. Would not have been a good thing to have happen over there....

Holy cow! Ouch! Good thing you did stay home! Whatever we have doesn't show up on xray. Dad describes it like a tooth ache, I think it feels like very bad menstrual cramps. He did physical therapy, but it just made his worse. It seems more like muscle pains, but we're not sure what it is! If I drink, that's my hangover... no headache or anything, but my knees hurt. It'd be nice to know what it really is so we could deal with it better, but for now, it's just the cocktail and if it's unbearable, some heavy-duty painkiller.

Yup! The doc that blamed it on my weight? Never went back. I had always been UNDERWEIGHT until mom put me on the depo shot... so I was underweight for about ten years, still having joint pains, when I finally gained weight. No way was it linked to weight. Idiot doctor, lol. The one doc finally recommended Vit D, but ithasn't helped. At least he tried and made an actual attempt to help me though!
