OK... I am still in search of some hens who are prone to broodiness other than the silkies... I have some BA and BRock chicks, hopefully at least 2 of each will end up being hens (but no way to know if they will ever be broody either).... but looking at some other large fowl breeds also. I have seen mention of the JG's being broody prone, along with BO's and Cochins, and Dorking. Anyone have experience with these breeds and if their advertised 'broody tendancies' are accurate or is it a case of '1 out of 10 goes broody, so they are considered broody prone'left, bottom nester...that one is a broody that's been at it for 2 weeks, jersey giant girl, she barely fits in there....the rest are just being lazy today....
I don't need every hen we own to be a broody, but would like at least a few to be that way.
