I have a dozen Barnie eggs in the incubator right now. I couldn't find them anywhere, so posted a want ad on BYC. Lots of people responded, so I bought eggs and hopefully at Easter I'll have chicks. Half of mine are already taken though. You might want to look into eggs??
 
Wing and Bea, whatcha want for the turkey and blue swed duck eggs? I can't see them going to "waste", especially turkeys, especially after only having three MW's left from 15+ eggs! A friend wants some sweds too, so I'd be interested depending on price and how many, lol.

I have an extra white silkie roo (hatchery quality. He's really big, possible standard size, sparse leg feathering, might even have a single comb, I don't even know. Not even considering breeding him) and a Buff Orpington roo in the brooder. They're about 3 weeks old and I'm pretty sure they're both cockerels :) let me know if you need 'em
 
Oops, I see that everyone else has offered up their abundance of boys, lol! The little orp was supposed to be a sexed pullet, but his little comb exploded. It's all big and pink :lol: The silkie's comb is starting to pop up too

all of us are here to help you. there is no such thing as a dumb question. if i have the experience i will gladly share it with you and anybody else.the most important thing in brooding chicks is feed water, warmth and clean.. your brooder does not have to be 85- 90 degrees or so. it can be lower just no drafts or extreme cold. in fact a hot brooder can cause pasty butt. your birds are around 2 weeks. at 3 weeks or so if weather permits and temps are okay. start to harden the birds off. take them outside for awhile. . keep an eye on them. chicks that get to cold will cheap like a baby crying. do this a little each day. in a short time the birds will be feathered out and can go to the pen.i would still keep a heat lamp in the pen just in case.the temps drop.

what kind of birds do you have?. hatchery or heritage breed.. in my experience hatchery birds are very hardy. heritage can be a little different but not much.
 
next subject does everyone know how to ferment feed ? who ever wants to know i can tell you how. the benefits are very positive. i also recommend unpasteurized apple cider vinegar in the drinking water. use 1 table spoon per gallon..
