it hasn't even started to rain yet & I am wishing for sunny skies already!...I know we need the rain though.

Well, if this comtinues I will definitely consider snagging him and requesting the removal of the bird. If game commission doesn't care, maybe there's a wildlife rehab center in the area that would be dedicated enough to do this for me

As for the snake, It's easy to catch them for me!! I setup a minnow trap on it's side along the side of the room (snakes like to travel right next to the walls). For bait, I'll put a live mouse in the minnow trap. (seems a bit mean, but if you want fast capture, it's the most effective. Especially if you're worried the critter might be venomous) If you don't want to use live, dead mice and eggs work pretty well too! (I have an abundance of dead mice around here, I have a couple pet snakes in the house so they're always in stock). Anyways, when the snake travels into the trap and eats the mouse, he'll be too bloated to get out, and he'll have trouble getting out of the funnel-shape anyways. As long as they're checked frequently, the traps work pretty well!!!

Then again, I personally wouldn't mind a slithery guy in my attic, as long as he kills any fuzzy things up there!!

Thanks for the trap idea.

The only reason I haven't pushed the issue is I know it's eating the mice and other fuzzy buggers. It's just freaky as heck when you're trying to get to sleep and all sudden you hear slithering on the ceiling above you. I recently told Gavin he already has a pet snake, he just doesn't see it, after all it lives in the house and eats mice in the house.

Til I get over my fear that's as close as he's getting to pet one.

Well so far it looks like our cockerel count is 4 New Hampshires, 2 Cornish Xs (which don't really matter), 2 BCMs, 1 Buckeye, 1 OEGB, 1 Wheaten Amerucana, and 1 EE (based on attitude alone). I know what will happen with the New Hampshires, I think someone called it "freezer camp," but I'm not sure what I'll do with the EE and one of the BCMs. The Buckeye, OEGB, Wheaten and one BCM are staying.
