That was 96. 94 was way more than 4'. The drifts were over 7' in 94.
That's right, 94 was the year we (all four siblings) were jumping off the roof into the snow...til my Grandparents caught us, I (the oldest and therefore the "responsible one") couldn't sit for supper that night....
A blizzard. '94 was worse. We were snowed in for 3 days. A guy actually lost his snowmobile in the snow above our house on the road. I was riding horse for 8hrs the first day of the '96 blizzard. I had a terrible flu afterwards, but man was it fun! The horse was not happy with me, though. No idea why she was upset, she was wearing her blanket... With red bows and bells in her mane and tail (for Xmas).
You could have gotten her blanket dirty and messed up her hair...duh.

Hopefully GreenJeans is doing his job so you should have some eggs to set for some more beautiful EEs!

I work in a rural area. For those blizzards I brought my truck to work and crewed as an extra person in my truck.... I would use the truck to access patient's houses while we left the ambulance on a road nearby. We would get the patient into the truck (either in the cab or bed, depending on how bad they were) and I would drive them out to the ambulance. Those were some rough shifts!

I need some help sexing a LF splash cochin. They were hatched in January and I know for sure one is a cockerel. The one on the right in the pic with both birds is the cockerel and the right single pic is the same boy. My question is: is the other one a p

ullet??

Is the bird pictured above a pullet??

I know this one is a cockerel. If they turn out to be a pair Betta has first choice. If she decided not to take them does anyone else want thems

Okay, after finding out they where hatched in January (I had asked of FB) that is a cockerel. My pullets from January don't have any come or wattles at all. One is just developing faster.

I am in search of some LF pullets, straight run or younger laying hens, should be ones who will have a decent body size, egg color doesn't matter.
Someone I know just lost his flock of layers to a raccoon attack in the coop. He would probably be fine with a mixed bag of straight run chicks
of a couple different breeds if someone has some from an incubator hatch.
Prefer it to be within an hour or so of Punxsy so I can pick them up and relay them to him.
He does have a particular interest in the Buckeyes, so some of them would be great. Though he wouldn't need a dozen of them alone.

PM me if you have anything available so I can pass the info along to him.

I accidently got sent the wrong eggs that I had ordered. They are Silver Pencilled Rocks. I DO NOT WANT THEM at all. I would prefer that when they hatch they leave by day 3.

Now that I'm a parent I know we were lil monsters. My Gpa would try scaring us into behaving by having us pick a switch, slapping it on the table a few times, and warning if we weren't good he'd use it (he never used more than one slap on the hind end with open hand though). Then less than a week later we'd be up a tree, on a roof (usually with a blanket tied like a cap for jumping off or a sled for the drifts), or down the woods below/in the tree stand playing "remember the Alamo". Trying to get the dogs to pull us on something, wrestling (someone usually ended up with a bloody nose) or putting the male rabbit in with the girls ("But he looked lonely") were the top "earth based" activities... I'm surprised we didn't give them heart attacks

What's worse is I KNOW when Gavin has siblings they'll be the same way and I STILL want more kids....
